Often when Tom Braatz and his sidekick Lars travel they get hungry. Yes, it is true that we eat most of our meals in restaurants, and in Dousman Wisconsin there is a magnificent restaurant named "The Sunny Side Up" that always delivers the best in Mexican food, American food, and wonderful fish fries. Margarito and his wife Liz serve up some of the best Huevos Rancheros for anyone to start their day out on.

Lars loves the leftovers and tortillas and he would second it in a second how down to Earth and kind these people are to him. The Sunny Side Up restaurant is located just south of Highway 18 in Dousman Wisconsin on Hwy 67; about a 1/4 south of the intersection. Great ambiance, amazing food, and wonderful people; it's one of our favorites, and will always be. Stop in and enjoy this beautiful restaurant and tell them Tom Braatz the real estate agent, and his buddy Lars sent you! If you never have been in a cheese factory and totally got the scope of what they do I would suggest one time in life that you do. We work really hard during the week and I just needed a little more bonding time with my son Spencer. In the Waukesha County real estate market it gets pretty hectic and when I have a moment I like to hang out with my little guy. When he got up this morning I mentioned to him that we should go for a ride and look at the country side and possibly go to Theresa, Wisconsin, which is home to Widmer's Cheese Cellars

 These folks make amazing cheese and as I drove I thought about the packages I am going to put together for some agent friends; friends that live in too much desert, agent friends that think their state makes good cheese, and unexpected friends that will just enjoy it. Lots of fields went by, many beautiful and glorious cows, rolling hills and meadows, streams and lakes; it was just what makes an afternoon with ones son that more enjoyable.

Widmer's still has the tours while making the cheese and I can tell you their brick cheese, cheddar, muenster cheese is superb, and my son Spencer has been eating cheese curds all day non stop; that leads me to believe they hit home and he gives his approval.

Widmer's has been in business for a long time and they are master cheesemakers. In fact, Wisconsin is the only state that has a master cheesemakers program required. The story of Widmer's Cheese begins over 80 years ago, when our founder, John O. Widmer, left Switzerland to come to America. Dodge County Wisconsin was already one of the most famous cheese producing regions of the world, . As did manySwiss immigrants, John O. Widmer became a cheese maker. John worked in various cheese factories as an apprentice before settling in Theresa Wisconsin in 1922. Widmer's Cheese Cellars offers a Wisconsin original, Wisconsin Brick cheese, a cheese of unsurpassed distinction. Methods for making cheese vary according to the type of cheese, but the basic manufacturing process for all cheese is essentially the same as the one we use to make Widmer Brick. The fresh, sweet milk is picked up at nearby farms and brought to the cheese factory via bulk truck.

My son has a propensity to want to eat breakfast out; mainly because he can get those huge Belgium waffles with fruit, and a mountain of whipped cream on them. There is one place that we visit not only because the food is amazingly out of this world, but also because the hosts, the ambiance, and the prices are just as amazing. I always get the Huevos Rancheros which is enough food for two people but somehow I always manage to finish my breakfast. In the Waukesha County real estate market there are many great restaurants but when you want a great breakfast, awesome Mexican food all day log, fish, and more this is a must to visit. The two hosts David and Margarito are perfect gentlemen.The Sunny Side Up is outstanding for beakfast,lunch, or dinner and is located just south of Highway 18 on Hwy 67 in Dousman, Wisconsin, at 159B Highway 67. It is amazing how one can find outstanding restaurants in small places.

 On July 24th, 25th, and 26th of this year a tradition continues; it is time once again for the Dousman Derby Days held at Cory Park. This is a Wisconsin festival with all the right atmosphere. There are the beer tents, the parade, the chicken barbecue, and of course the Wisconsin State Championship Frog Jump. If I'm not mistaken the 1960 champion frog "Yogi" had a 14ft jump and he was owned by Jack Longley. Folks, this is a serious thing and is not taken lightly. With softball tournaments, carnivals and rides, and lots of entertainment why not come out and see what Dousman has to offer?
