Waukesha County real estate: Les Paul; The Wizard of Waukesha

The Waukesha County real estate market and the City of Waukeshahas had it's share of very famous musicians, many and many of them, some such as The Bodeans, Boz Scaggs, Steve Miller, and the most famous deemed the wizard of Waukesha who is Les Paul. Les Paul is a music icon who developed the electric guitar, and the semi hollow electric guitar. These changed music for ever and every famous and non famous musician will tip their hat to this amazing man. Les Paulstill plays in his club in New York and is now 93. He resides in New Jersey. He grew up close to the corner of moreland and north st. The corner which is in the SE intersection by the fox river bridge. I myself have had Gibson Firebirds, Flying V,and Les Paul customs; a 60 cherry finish, and a 79 black beauty. Les Paul was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin  on June9th, 1915 and he will be 96 years old in a few days. Please see www.lespaulonline.com. He is an accomplished jazz and Rock musician, and is credit for developing many inventions such as the electric guitar, and in recording inventions he developed recording studios, overdubbing, delay effects, tape delay, and multitrack recording phasing effects. In the 1930s, Paul worked in Chicago in radio, where he performed jazz music. Paul's first two records were released in 1936. One was credited to Rhubarb Red, Paul's hillbilly alter ego, and the other was as an accompanist for blues artist Georgia White. Paul was dissatisfied with the acousticguitars that were sold in the mid 1930s and began experimenting with a few designs for an electric model on his own. Famously, he created "The Log," which was nothing more than a length of common 4" x 4" lumber with bridge, guitar neck, and pickup attached. For the sake of appearance, he attached the body of an Epiphonehollow-body guitar, sawn lengthwise with The Log in the middle. This solved his two main problems: feedback, as the acoustic body no longer resonated with the amplified sound, and sustain. Paul was dissatisfied with the acoustic guitars. In 1938, Paul moved to New York as part of a trio that included Jim Atkins (older half-brother of guitarist Chet Atkins) and bassist/percussionist Ernie Newton. Paul moved to Hollywood in 1943, where he formed a new trio. As a last-minute replacement for Oscar Moore, Paul played with Nat King Cole and other artists in the inaugural Jazz at the Philharmonic concert in Los Angeles on July 2, 1944. Also that year, Paul's trio appeared on Bing Crosby's radio show. Crosby went on to sponsor Paul's recording experiments. The two also recorded together several times, including a 1945 number one hit, "It's Been A Long, Long Time." In addition to backing Crosby and artists like The Andrews Sisters, Paul's trio also recorded a few albums of their own on the Decca label in the late 1940s. Les Paul and "the Les Paul" Paul's innovative guitar, "The Log", built in 1939, was one of the first solid-body electric guitars.[3] (Leo Fender also independently created his own solid-body electric guitar around the same time and Adolph Rickenbacher had marketed a solid-body guitar in the 30s). Gibson Guitar Corporation designed a guitar incorporating Paul's suggestions in the early fifties, and presented it to him to try. He was impressed enough to sign a contract for what became the "Les Paul" model (originally only in a "gold top" version), and agreed never to be seen playing in public, or be photographed, with anything other than a Gibson guitar.

The arrangement persisted until 1961, when declining sales prompted Gibson to change the design without Paul's knowledge, creating a much thinner, lighter, and more aggressive-looking instrument with two cutaway "horns" instead of one. Paul said he first saw the "new" Gibson Les Paul in a music store window, and disliked it. Though his contract required him to pose with the guitar, he said it was not "his" instrument, and asked Gibson to remove his name from the headstock. (Others claimed that Paul ended his endorsement contract with Gibson during his divorce, to avoid having his wife to get his endorsement money.) Gibson renamed the guitar "Gibson SG" (which stands for "Solid Guitar"), and it also became one of the company's best sellers. The original Gibson Les Paul guitar design regained popularity when Eric Claptonbegan playing the instrument a few years later (although he also played an SG and an ES-335). Paul resumed his relationship with Gibson, and has endorsed the original Les Paul guitar design ever since (though his personal Gibson Les Pauls are much modified by him - Paul always uses his own self-wound pickups and customized switching on his guitars). To this day, various models of Gibson Les Paul guitar are used all over the world, by both novice and professional guitarists. A less expensive version of the Les Paul guitar is also manufactured for Gibson's lower-priced Epiphone brand. In 1947, Capitol Records released a recording that had begun as an experiment in Paul's garage, entitled "Lover (When You're Near Me)", which featured Paul playing eight different parts on electric guitar, some of them recorded at half-speed, hence "double-fast" when played back at normal speed for the master. ("Brazil", similarly recorded, was the B-side.) This was the first time that multi-tracking had been used in a recording. These recordings were made not with magnetic tape, but with acetate disks. Paul would record a track onto a disk, then record himself playing another part with the first. He built the multi-track recording with overlaid tracks, rather than parallel ones as he did later. There is no record of how many "takes" were needed before he was satisfied with one layer and moved onto the next.

Paul even built his own disc-cutter assembly, based on auto parts. He favored the flywheel from a Cadillac for its weight and flatness. Even in these early days, he used the acetate disk setup to record parts at different speeds and with delay, resulting in his signature sound with echoes and birdsong-like guitar riffs. When he later began using magnetic tape, the major change was that he could take his recording rig on tour with him, even making episodes for his 15-minute radio show in his hotel room. Les Paul and his wife Mary Ford at work recording during the late 1940s. Paul had hosted a 15-minute radio program, The Les Paul Show, on NBCin 1950, featuring his trio (himself, Ford, and rhythm player Eddie Stapleton) and his electronics, recorded from their home and with gentle humour between Paul and Ford bridging musical selections, some of which had already been successful on records, some of which anticipated the couple's recordings, and many of which presented dazzling re-interpretations of such jazz and pop selections as "In the Mood," "Little Rock Getaway," "Brazil," and "Tiger Rag." Several recordings of these shows survive among old-time radio collectors today. 1. Happy Fathers Day

With Sunday approaching fast I wanted to take a moment out and wish every Dad in the World a Happy Fathers Day. To the fathers that are with us, as parents that look at out children and thank God every moment for them, and remembering the Dads that are taking their much deserved nap. Happy Fathers Day. I know my guiding light and heart beat is derived from a little man that I cherish. I am so blessed.

Father's Day is a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities. Call Tom Braatz the VA Home Expert: He understands Veterans buyng a home

Welcome home gentleman, gentlewomen and Semfer Fei. The beauty of the country and the entire United States of America are before you, and all it holds was protected by the grace and unchallenged commitment that ever one of you put forth. So you have been thinking a buying a home. and by all means you should be. Whether you are buying a home in Waukesha County, purchasing a Waukesha County Lake home. You have done your country something they could be thank you and they owe you a world of gratitude.   It is only fair for those soldiers we get to honor their final return.
How can the American people honor those who has given the ultimate sacrifice? How can we help the many struggling military families with much needed resources while their spouses are away?
Supporting our troops is not with yellow ribbon bumper stickers, or flying the American flag on your front yard, or by telling those who don't agree with personal views to leave this country and go to France, Iraq or whatever country we are hating at the moment.
But we support our troops by lending a helping hand to the families of soldiers and veterans who sacrifice and give more than the 99.95 percent of Americans are willing to do. We have to do our part, we have to be held accountable as well. That is what makes a strong USA and a strong military.

What have you done for your country today?

Testing for Echo: The correct sounds and overtures for buying a home is now

There is a term in the music industry called "testing for echo". Echo can be a real nuisance in a recording studio, on a stage it can give you real havoc and hence the use of a good monitor or monitors is crutial, and over all echo, outside of reverb or feedback can create problems.

Similar to real estate echo and the sense of talking falling on deaf ears, or thinking that there is an echo in the room seems a little more prevalent these days. There was a anti acid commercial awhile ago with the comedian on stage going "I know your out there because I can hear you breathing" Whether you are in front of 10,000 people or a party of one the point can never be made clear enough. I had a number of buyers talk to me recently and said they were thinking of buying but they were thinking it was going to get better. Better? Better for what? I want people to succeed, I want them to win, I want them to reap the rewards and benefits that this market one can obtain. The rates in Waukesha County real estate are amazing, the selection of properties in the Waukesha County real estate market is superb, and the prices in the Waukesha County real Estate marketare truly outstanding. Whether you area'sbuying a home in Waukesha or are interested in Waukesha County Lake homes or Waukesha County Lake properties the time is perfect. People ask "Is it a good time to buy." Well there are times I have waited. Then again I never thought I would be paying for bottled water, let alone more for it than beer. I also never thought i would be paying to put in my car tires. Truly, if you contact me for a buyers package, fill out the dream home form by clicking here: Dream Home Finder , or give me a call to set up a private appointment you can get in on a perfect time in home buying.

The Milwaukee County Zoo: World Class Zoological experience for everyone

If I was ever amazed at anything it was with the fascination my son Spencer had with animals. When we would go to the zoo every week he would like to go "behind  the scenes" and watch the zoo personal get the food ready for the animals, watch the veternarians, and was into it big time. The Milwaukee County Zoo is nothing short of spectacular. The Milwaukee County Zoo is considered among the finest Zoos in the country. It is situated on 200 wooded acres and is home to approximately 2500 animals, representing 300 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, invertebrates.and more. Just over a quarter century ago, the Milwaukee County Zoo lost its most famous resident, a male gorilla named Samson. During his 30 plus years in Milwaukee, Samson became extremely popular with the local community, appearing frequently on local television and in publications as diverse as International Wildlife and the National Enquirer.  Samson was an extremely large gorilla with a beauty that many would not argue. He had a presence to him, yet an amazing look back at you that made you feel drawn to him. One could always respect his unpredictable nature.Today he is remembered as one of Milwaukee's "favorite sons." Samson, the largest gorilla in captivity, was showcased in the Apes of Africa building. Samson was a silverback (adult male with silver-gray hair on back and shoulders), was noted for banging on the windows and steel door of his enclosure. This noisy behavior was a way of asserting his power, in this case his power to get visitors' attention. He also sat on a large scale, topping out at 652 pounds in 1971. Samson died November 27th, 1981 at the age of 32 years. This November will mark the 25th anniversary of his death. For more information on what there is to see, do, and enjoy at the Milwaukee County Zoo please visit:Milwaukee County Zoo! The Milwaukee County Zoo is just a short ride from just about anyWaukesha County Real Estate, and is a must see. Be careful of what you put out there in life; it just may come back to you

In the Waukesha County real estate market business is what you make it. Now that I think about that it pretty much holds true anywhere and of any business. It is your attitude which will make or break it. Having a well planned day, and having a direction of where you want it to end up is to everyone's advantage. Creditability is everything in this business. What, where, when, how and why it was said all have a bearing. That's why as Waukesha County real estate agents we perfect our marketing skills, our prospecting skills, our closing and negotiating skills, and we always strive to improve our talents to benefit the people we are working with. It took a long time for me to hone my skills in voice inflection, hand and eye movement, and timing. However,I have to take a step back often and ask myself how I could improve to help anyone in the Waukesha real Estate, Waukesha County Lake homes market, or any Waukesha County homes market for that fact.

Kids are great for duplicating our actions. When I was married my son Spencer would drive around with me and we would sing songs about "the wheels on the bus go round and round" and anything else. Tom Braatz sometimes gets behind slow people. My son was driving with my mother in law Pat and all of a sudden from the back seat he yells to here "Pick it up Aunt Bee". You can imagine where that went.
