Walking down Main Street or Armour Street, you are greeted by many famous names. You get a feeling that people really liked it here. Wrigley had a mansion, the owner of Montgomery Ward had a 23 room, 20 bath mansion on the Lake. It is just the time to come and let Tom Braatz show you what a beautiful city is really is.

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin: A City that is in the Heart of the Lake Country

One can take a drive trough the City of Oconomowoc, located in Western WaukeshaCounty and be amazed how beautiful homes sit on Pristine Lakes, and the Lakes surround this beautiful city. Full of History, and loaded with charm, Oconomowoc is truly a magnificent city to visit, and to work and live in.

The pioneering and developing of Oconomowoc began in 1837 when the first white man, Charles Sheldon, came to this area to build his log cabin. He found that the Potowatomi Indians had already laid the foundation of what they called Coo-No-Mo-Wauk (where the waters meet, or river of lakes) which in time would become Oconomowoc.

As the town grew and word of its beauty and natural wealth spread, tradesmen began to arrive. One such early settler was a young man named John S. Rockwell. He built his griss mill, owned the first store and hotel, and denoted sites to all the churches. He started the fire department, the library, the elementary school, and more.

Fueled by its growing reputation, Oconomowoc entered a new era marked by the title "Newport of the West." This started in 1870 and continued into the 1930s. Lured by Oconomowoc's great beauty, families of wealth from Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee crowded its Lake shores with palatial country mansions and lavished landscapes. At one time, Lake Road was referred to as "Presidents Avenue" since Taft, Grant, Cleveland, Coolidge,McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt had visited and enjoyed Draper Hall and the hospitality of its wealthy residents.

Today the summer mansions are year round homes, and the largely intact, late 19th century downtown and many stately historic houses are reminders of those years. Historic walking tours are available.

This truly is a very beautiful city, and can be enjoyed by all.

You can always count on change in Wisconsin; weathering temperatures

Spring is always welcome in my book, and this year more than ever. It has been a winter of lots of snow, lots of cold temperatures, and with every warming day it just gets that much closer to the beautiful springs, and magnificent summers. However, just when you think it is taking off towards the mercury rising Wisconsin tradition of being unpredictable in weather never lets you down. A couple days ago it was all melted, warm as can be, and people are telling me they are looking at putting their boats in the water soon. Tee shirts back to cashmire coats in two days.

It won't be long and it will all be a memory, but getting to that point can be one day opening windows, and the next turning up the heat.

The people in Wisconsin make this state truly one of a kind. Why not come and find out for yourself. Need a relocation package, buyers package, or real estate tool kit? We have you covered no matter what season it may be.

My Gratitude to my other hero: Happy Birthday Lars!

It's March 18th and in the last half a year many of challenges have taken place for myself, my son, and Lars. There are some that might not have the compassion I have for my dog, but the beauty is he is much more than a dog to me. He is one of my heroes. My son I am sure does not mind having a birthday so close to him, and they are best of friends.

I had a friend that so unselfishly a number of years ago told me we were going for a ride, and I better plan on the day. She had mentioned that we were going up past the Omro Wisconsin area. My first question was "You mean that you are finally going to go sky diving with me?" She said no, and was fast to remind me that in her mind only two things fell from the sky; bird crap and idiots. Much to my expectation we came to a breeder that raised champion German shepherds. She said "I know how much you loved Brutus your last dog and now I want you to pick a new guy." The world is full of very kind people. Lars had a dad that was a Canadian champion and the female was a champion vitreous in the United States.

I wanted to do something really good with Lars, and because of some of my virtues in the past we decided we would train hard and join a search and rescue team. Never under estimate the good that an animal like Lars can bring; to people that needed to be found, and those that found themselves by being with him.

Lars has a tag that is on his collar and it simply says "I AM A SEARCH AND RESCUE DOG MY NAME IS LARS" People asks why I admire that tag so much. That's easy; he earned it, and I am proud of him. He can climb step ladders, walk beams, go through the worst conditions, and actually enjoyed all the FEMA training. I am proud of my friend for all he has done for me, and I firmly believe without his love and affection I would not be writing this today. I don't need to write about all that, but it is amazing the strength I gathered from him when I could not grab it from anywhere else. He is also a therapy dog. The feeling I get from him walking into a hospital, home, or visiting a veteran can never be explained. A tear would show it. For example we could walk down a corridor and walk into a room and I would ask a woman "My name is Tom and this is my friend Lars. We are visiting andI wonder if you would like some company for awhile. From there Lars would sit right next to the person and as I walked a way for a bit to give the time alone. I could hear comments like "You are such a nice boy, I wish you could stay with me here" or "I had a friend like you when I grew up." The Vets were a blast because i would tell myself I would give it two hours today and it always was darl when I walked out. The minute they saw him comments would yell out like "There's my buddy Lars!, come here guy." How do you take a way that time from someone. I would have slept on the floor if it meant more time for them.

So Lars, as you were a little puppy listening to those Metallica CD's and I named you after Lars Ulrich little did I know that I could not feel comfortable in a picture these days without you. I can never thank you enough, and you have changed my whole perspective and outlook on life, and how special and wonderful it is.

Lars, you are a good boy!

Learning from Masters in Internet marketing and social network sights and MLM giants

It wasn't to long ago that I thought I would step out of the box just a little bit further and ask for help from some megastars in the way they attract returns. It wasn't long and I became friends with both. They taught me an awful lot on attraction and how to get people to their web companies. Granted, I don't own media companies, Internet social networks, and others, but what I have learned from them really is no different than you and I having a cup of coffee across from each other. "Think like what you would want to attract". "Be yourself and have fun" It got to the point where we now could feed off each other. I am proud that they think of me the way they do, and they recently said I could use there testimonials because they said it was the truth. Gentleman, I thank you as always.Matt and Ken you have taught me lot; what I know now is going to put me in warp drive with my Real estate and MLM company.

"My goodness what can I say about Tom Braatz? For starters I very much appreciate his heart and his never say die spirit. I have had the pleasure of working with him on a couple of endeavors and always walked away mystified as to the amount of desire he turns into action in making his and others dreams come true." March 7, 2008

Matt LaClear Professional Networker , FHTM

"There are very few people I can really say are mentors to me...though we are in different industries Tom has proven time and again how to have a successful business while creating win-win situation. There is not a single person I would not refer to Tom..he rocks!" January 26, 2009

Kenneth Cameron , Chief Executive Officer , Terroir Media & Development

"Tom is a clever man. Fast evaluator, focus his attention to the problems core, details come later when you have time." March 15, 2008

Marcello Cividini , Creator , Marcello's Kitchen

"Tom Braatz is the class of realtors in Southeastern Wisconsin. He works very hard for his clients. I held an investment seminar last summer which he attended. So far we have closed over 50 investment purchases and helped my clients make lots of extra income. If it was not for his hard work this would never have happened..." February 24, 2008
