My son Spencer just loves to fish, and as a compromise I can bring paperwork to the park and let him cast his pole out until the cows come out. I ask him if he caught anything and he always comes back with a "I saw a 5 foot catfish and just missed it." I then reply with a "If he jumps up on the pier for a minute and starts saying Hello, Hello, I want you to ignore him." Oconomowoc and the Waukesha County real estate market has a lot of wonderful people in it.

We live in times where people want to believe in something more than ever these days. In this park on Lac La Belle is a wishing fountain. I do find it a very pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by, but I also have noticed something that really catches my eye. In the two hours I am there I am amazed at the number of people that walk up to the fountain, close their eyes, and throw in some change.  I almost want to tell them that if they saved just a little bit more I may be able to help them utilize that first time buyer tax credit before it's gone. The thought comes, and it goes, and the people give me a smile and a nod and go on their way. I never thought a fountain could put such a smile on peoples faces. Young couples, older couples, single people. Somewhere in time the person that thought of putting water into the sky, filling a concrete basin with water, and assuming people would wish on a star or faith was an absolute genius. It's addicting as I reached in my pocket an wished on something simple; my son being safe,healthy,and happy. Funny, as we get older everything that was big just becomes trivial with time.
